Position title: Laboratory Manager
Jim K White, BME, is the Laboratory Manager in the Department of Radiology. He graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. Since joining the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2006, he has served as a research specialist for the Department of Ophthalmology, the Tumor Ablation Lab, and the Abdominal Image-Guided Interventions Laboratory. Jim’s research interests include thermal and non-thermal ablative energy delivery, numerical modeling for multiphysics simulation, and imaging feedback and analysis for minimally invasive and non-invasive ablation. Most recently, his research is focused on histotripsy, a completely non-invasive treatment using focused ultrasound to destroy tissue without heating and any ionizing radiation.
