John Swietlik, MD

Dr. Swietlik completed medical school at New York Medical College, then diagnostic radiology residency and interventional radiology training at University of Wisconsin. His research interests center around translation of new technology and treatment options in the field of interventional oncology. He originally got involved in the ablation lab during his 1st year of radiology training. His research to this point has been focused on microwave ablation and more recently preclinical large animal studies on Histotripsy. Moving forward, Dr. Swietlik plans to continue to advance the field of interventional oncology through translation research, specifically evaluating the use of Histotripsy for the treatment of both malignant and benign tissues in humans, as well as developing fluoroscopic Histotripsy guidance for tissue not visible with ultrasound.
